About Us

The Pat The Roc Basketball Skills Academy was founded in 2004.  The program started in a small classroom at Mt. Hope Community Center with just 3 students. Kids would come in once a week to dribble for an hour. There was no basketball court, and no actual hoops. Only a boombox that played music, which helped kids learn how to dribble to the beat.

Over the course of 5 years the program grew internationally, as Coach Pat The Roc began hosting camps and clinics all over the world, reaching thousands of players. Some of the top NBA, WNBA, and collegiate programs began to reach out to learn some of the signature drills and techniques taught by the Pat The Roc Academy.

By 2014, the Pat The Roc Academy opened it's doors to it's first basketball facility in Rockville, Maryland.
